Prawns Stir Fry


Prawns Stir Fry is a simple delicacy that can be served as starter, side dish or main meal along with chapatis. This enticing dish is done in just two simple steps. Prawns are first marinated with spices, ginger and kokum (garcinia indica) which is the highlight of this recipe. Then these marinated prawns are stir fried along with onions and garlic. Though the preparations don’t require much of your time or efforts, this savory is extremely tasty and mouthwatering and is something that you can make at the last moment.



Onion 3 big (finely chopped)

Garlic 15-20 petals (finely chopped)

Red chili powder 3-4 tbsp

Turmeric powder ½ tsp

Ginger (grated) 1-2 tsp

Salt to taste

For marinating the prawns –

Prawns medium size (shells removed) 2 ½ cups

Kokum 7-8

Turmeric powder ½ tsp

Red chili powder 1-2 tsp

Ginger (grated) 1-2 tsp

Salt to taste


We will start by marinating the prawns. Take prawns (shells removed and cleaned) in a large bowl. Then add kokum, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger and mix properly. Now keep this marinated mixture aside for at least 1 hour.

Now take a pan and heat oil in it.

Now add garlic, onion and saute them.

Add the marinated prawns, red chili powder, ginger, salt and mix.

Let the prawns get cook.

Once done take it off flame and serve hot.
