I know you guys will be shocked by the name of this recipe itself but trust me, sponge cake using Mirinda or Mirinda sponge cake is a treat for all cake lovers. Credit of this recipe belongs to my mom who in her teens invented this recipe and encouraged me to publish this on my blog.
Maida (common flour) 200 grams
Baking Powder 1 tsp
Powdered Sugar 200 grams
Butter 200 grams
Vanilla Essence 1 tsp
Mirinda 1 cup
Cream together butter and powdered sugar, mix well using a spatula till smooth.
Now add eggs one at a time and mix gently with the help of a spatula.
In deep bowl, sieve plain flour and baking powder.
Add the plain flour mixture and vanilla essence and fold gently
Finally add mirinda and mix gently.
Grease a cake mould using butter and dust maida over it. Pour the batter into the greased mould.
Now immediately bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
Let the cake cool down completely.
Demould the cake and serve.
